Special needs australian shepherd needs a new home.
Pris: -Special needs australian shepherd needs a new home.
Dovre is a 10 year old australian shepherd with hearing and vision sensitivities caused by a genetic disorder that makes his fur mostly white. He is a good dog who requires a calm environment without other dogs or children. We have to let him go to another home or destroy him as he has frightened two children by lunging at them. And yesterday my daughter opened the front door and he bit an adult. He is safe with cats - he avoids them. He requires a home with a quiet garden, where he will be delighted to relax and smell the breeze. He cannot be walked because he panics on leash and might nip other dogs or their people if he is not on leash. He is calm in the house, walking to you for a cuddle. He likes to have a dog house inside where it is calm and he is out of the way. He likes to be brushed and allows me to clip his claws. He is gentle with food. Dovre would be a very good companion for someone who would like a dog, but can't take a dog on long walks. He should be placed into another room when the doorbell rings until the guest is inside away from the door. Dovre has been under unfair stress with us with a rambunctious puppy, a baby, and kids running around daily. And the stress can cause him to lunge. Without these stresses, he is a calm, quiet, lovable, cuddly, dog. I wish we could make a quiet home for him with us.His favorite moment is when you rub his chest.
